Sanbon Rule Clarification |
The WKF just recently issues this letter for a clarification on Article 6 paragraph 3b.

It states:
SANBON is awarded for Jodan Kicks and:
b) Any scoring technique delivered on a thrown or fallen opponent.
The first thing to understand is that the Rule itself takes priority and that Explanations are an attempt to clarify or explain. There is no need to start looking for hidden meanings or inventing complicated situations. In Article 6 the Explanation in Paragraph II states:

2009 Nationals Volunteers |
Karate Alberta is hosting the 2009 NKA
Championships from July 23th to 25th and we are searching for
volunteers for the event. Volunteer positions are not limited to
Karate practitioners, they are opened to anyone who is interested to
volunteer. The positions available are, but not limited to:
- Marshallers
- Time Keepers
- Score Keepers
- Electronic Score Board Keepers
- Runners
- Security team
- Sales
- Ticket Sales
- Mat crew (set-up, take down and clean-up at end of day)
We are also in need of bilingual volunteers for some of the above
positions (French and English). The shifts will be from 8am - noon,
noon - 4pm and 4pm to end of matches. In addition to these shifts, a
mat clean up crew will be needed for the end of each day.
